Mahindra & Mahindra has increased the prices of its highly popular XUV700 from Rs 47,000-81,000, depending on the variant. It’s the second price hike for the SUV since its launch in September last year. The new prices will be applicable to all those buyers who have booked the SUV after October 8, 2021, as the initial two introductory prices were applicable for the first 50,000 buyers only (25,000 for each price bracket).

Aside from the price revision, no other changes have been made to the SUV. It will continue to be available with a choice of 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol and 2.2-litre turbocharged diesel engines. While the gasoline mill dishes out 200PS/360Nm, the diesel engine is available in three states of tune: 155PS/360Nm for the MX variant, 185PS/420Nm for manual AX trims, and 185PS/450Nm for automatic AX variants. Both engines can be had with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. The top-spec AX7 diesel-automatic trim also gets an optional all-wheel-drivetrain (AWD).
The XUV700 has a long list of competitors. Its five-seater variants lock horns with the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, MG Hector, and Tata Harrier, whereas its seven-seater trims rival the Hyundai Alcazar, Kia Carens, MG Hector Plus, and Tata Safari.
