Mahindra BE 6 and XEV 9e Set Record With 30,179 Bookings On Day 1

The recently launched electric origin SUVs from Mahindra, the BE 6 and XEV 9e, have collectively secured 30,179 bookings on the first day of bookings, valued at Rs 8472 crores (at ex-showroom price). This is a remarkable achievement considering that the total electric passenger vehicle sales in India for the entire calendar year 2024 stood at approximately 1 lakh units.

Out of the total 30,179 bookings, Mahindra said that 56% of bookings were for the XEV 9e, which roughly translates to 16,900 units, whereas the BE 6 accounted for the remaining 44% (13,279 units). The brand also asserted that 73% of total customers have chosen the top-spec Pack 3 variant with a 79kWh battery pack.

Deliveries for the Mahindra BE 6 and XEV 9e are slated to begin in late March 2025, in a phased manner. Having said that, here’s a look at the variant-wise delivery schedule of both models: –

Speaking of the pricing, the Mahindra BE 6 costs between Rs 18.90 lakh and Rs 26.90 lakh (ex-showroom), while the XEV 9e is priced from Rs 21.9 lakh to Rs 30.5 lakh (ex-showroom). Depending on the model, they face competition from the likes of the Tata Curvv EV, MG ZS EV, Hyundai Creta Electric, Maruti e-Vitara, and the upcoming Tata Harrier EV.
