The recently launched electric origin SUVs from Mahindra, the BE 6 and XEV 9e, have collectively secured 30,179 bookings on the first day of bookings, valued at Rs 8472 crores (at ex-showroom price). This is a remarkable achievement considering that the total electric passenger vehicle sales in India for the entire calendar year 2024 stood at approximately 1 lakh units.
Out of the total 30,179 bookings, Mahindra said that 56% of bookings were for the XEV 9e, which roughly translates to 16,900 units, whereas the BE 6 accounted for the remaining 44% (13,279 units). The brand also asserted that 73% of total customers have chosen the top-spec Pack 3 variant with a 79kWh battery pack.
