Kia EV9 Electric SUV Specs Out Ahead Of Launch On October 3

Kia is gearing up to launch its flagship electric SUV, the EV9, in India on October 3, 2024. Ahead of its official debut, we’ve got details about its key specifications like its dimensions, features, battery size, and expected range.

Built on the same E-GMP platform as the Kia EV6 and Hyundai Ioniq 5, the EV9 promises to be a major addition to Kia’s EV lineup. It will measure over 5 meters in length, with a wheelbase of 3100mm. Here’s a look at its dimensions: –

Kia EV9 Battery Pack and Range

Kia is expected to offer the India-spec EV9 with a 99.8kWh battery pack, promising a range of over 500 kilometres. It will be powered by two electric motors, one on each axle, providing all-wheel-drive (AWD) capabilities. It is claimed to deliver a peak output of 384PS of max power and 700Nm of peak torque.

Regarding charging, the EV9 supports up to 350kW DC fash charging, which can juice up its battery pack from 10 to 80 per cent in just 24 minutes. The EV will also support V2L (Vehicle-to-load) function.

  • Minimalist Dashboard Design: Black finish with dual-tone white and black leatherette seat upholstery.
  • Triple Screen Setup: Two 12.3-inch displays and a 5.3-inch climate control display in between.
  • Touch-Input Controls: Hidden on the dashboard for start/stop, climate control, ventilation, media, and other settings.
  • Captain Seats in the Second Row: With 8-way power adjustment and massage function.
  • Relaxation Feature: First and second-row seats with leg support.
  • Sunroofs: Individual sunroofs for the first and second rows.
  • Digital Inside Rear View Mirror (IRVM): With a rear-mounted camera to display a real-time video feed on the mirror’s surface, providing a clearer and wider view of what’s behind the vehicle, even in low-light conditions.
  • Safety Features: Nine airbags, ESC, hill hold & descent assist, electric parking brakes with auto hold, 360-degree camera and Level 2 ADAS, including automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and lane keep assist.

Expected Price

We expect Kia to price the EV9 between Rs 70 lakh and Rs 80 lakh (ex-showroom), placing it as an affordable alternative to the BMW iX and Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV.
