Fiat India Automobiles Pvt Ltd has issued a recall for its Jeep Wrangler off-roading SUV over a faulty fuel supply line issue. According to Jeep, the fuel supply line connector of these called back vehicles may crack over the time, which could lead to fuel leakage and catch fire in certain circumstances. This can put the person/property in and around it at risk of injury/damage.
As per the vehicle recall data is being uploaded on the SIAM's portal, the American carmaker has recalled a total of 39 units of both the Unlimited and Rubicon variants of the imported Jeep Wrangler that were manufactured from 24th January 2020 to 17th March 2020. That means the locally assembled Jeep Wrangler is secured from the recall as it went on sale only from 17th March 2021.
Expect Jeep to contact the buyers of the affected units soon so that they can schedule their appointment to bring their cars to the dealership/service centre for an inspection. All these suspected vehicles will undergo a proactive inspection, and if found necessary, the rectification or part replacement will be done free of cost.
