The Jeep Compass has received a new limited-run Anniversary Edition in India at Rs 25.26 lakh (ex-showroom). Based on the mid-spec Longitude (O) variant, this new special edition trim gets a few cosmetic enhancements inside and out, along with a couple of additional features.

Jeep Compass Anniversary Edition – What’s Special?

Being a special edition model, the Jeep Compass Anniversary Edition boasts some visual refreshments for added appeal. These include –

  • A black-&-red decal on the hood with “Anniversary Edition” lettering on it.
  • Red accent on the front grille.
  • New dual-tone interior with red upholstery.
  • White ambient lighting

Aside from these decorative modifications, the SUV also gets a dash camera for added safety & security, providing real-time recording and evidence in case of any incidents/accidents. Other than that, the SUV remains unchanged. It retails features like LEDcheadlamps, 17-inch alloy wheels, fog lamps with cornerning function, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment, wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, a 7-inch driver’s display, panoramic sunroof, wireless smartphone charger, dual-zone AC, rear AC vents, 360-degree camera. TPMS, and an electronic parking brake.

Engine and Transmission

Powering the Jeep Compass is a 2-litre diesel engine (170PS/350Nm), paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT automatic. It remains to be seen whether the Compass Anniversary Edition will be available with both gearbox options. However, the SUV comes standard with a front-wheel-drive system, while only the top-spec Model S(O) gets an optional 4WD configuration.

Rivals

In the Indian market, the Jeep Compass faces competition from the Hyundai Tucson, Citreon C5 Aircross, Tata Harrier and Volkswagen Tiguan.
