Engine specifications of the India-bound 2022 KTM RC 390 have been leaked ahead of its launch later this year. As per the leaked document, the new KTM RC 390 will be powered by the same 373cc liquid-cooled motor that dishes out 43.5PS at 9,000rpm. It will come mated to a 6-speed gearbox with an optional quickshifter. The engine is likely to be settled in a new lightweight trellis frame with a bolt-on subframe.
Dimensionally, the bike measures 1,965mm in length, 799mm in width, 1,145mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 1,347mm. The gross weight of the bike is 322kg.
Going by its global-spec version (revealed last year in September), the design of the 2022 KTM RC 390 will also undergo a major overhaul and will feature a sharp front fascia with a new single-pod headlight with the boomerang-like DRL-cum-indicators, larger windscreen, fairing-mounted rear-view mirrors, 13.7 liters of new fuel tank (+4.2-litres from the ongoing model), redesigned seats (824mm height), and new 5-spoke wheels, etc.
It will also get an updated suite of electronics, comprising a TFT display with KTM My Ride compatibility, cornering traction control, cornering and supermoto ABS. The bike will be suspended on a 43mm WP Apex front fork (with 30 compressions and rebound adjustments) and a rebound & preload-adjustable monoshock at the rear end. It will be 15kg lighter than the previous model.
Expect KTM to price the new RC 390 from around Rs 3 lakh (ex-showroom). When launched, it will rekindle its rivalry against the Kawasaki Ninja 300 and TVS Apache RR 310.
