Hyundai i20 Era Base Variant Returns; Prices Slashed By Rs 88,000

Hyundai India has rejigged the variant lineup of the i20 hatchback with the relaunch of the Era variant, priced at Rs 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Besides, the brand has also updated the Magna Executive and Magna with more features and new prices.

With this latest update, the i20 is now available with a total of seven variants: Era, Magna Executive, Magna, Sportz, Sportz (O), Asta and Asta (O). The Sportz (O) and Asta (O) can also be had with a special Knight edition.

2026 Hyundai i20 – What’s New?

  • To start with, the new base-spec Era variant is now equipped with essentials like halogen headlamps, semi-digital instrument cluster with MID, telescopic steering, keyless entry, type-C USB charging port, power-adjustable side mirrors, manual AC, and steering-mounted audio & telephony controls.
  • Regarding safety, the Era trim gets six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, hill start assist, a tyre pressure monitoring system and rear parking sensors.
  • Hyundai also updated the Magna variant with new amenities such as LED DRLs, front armrest with storage, electric sunroof and rear AC vents.
  • There is also an optional rear parking camera and 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system available with all three variants, the latter supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

In its higher variant, the i20 also features amenities like auto AC with rear vents, tilt & telescopic adjustments for steering, ambient lighting, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 7-speaker Bose sound system, a single-pane sunroof, a digital instrument cluster with MID, cruise control, wireless charger, push button start/stop and much more.

Engine Specifications

The Hyundai i20 is powered by a single 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces up to 88PS of max power and 115Nm of peak torque. Its transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a CVT automatic gearbox.

Competition Check

The Hyundai i20 goes up against the likes of Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Toyota Glanza and Tata Altroz.
