The Hyundai Creta N Line has finally been launched with performance-inspired styling updates and upgraded driving dynamics. Solely offered with a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine, the Creta N Line can be seen as an alternative to the performance-packed variants of the other mid-size SUVs like Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, MG Astor, and Volkswagen Taigun. • The Creta and Seltos share the identical 160PS TGDi engine with a 7-speed DCT automatic transmission. The Creta also receives the conventional manual gearbox option, while the Seltos comes with an intelligent manual transmission (clutchless manual).
• The Creta N Line is slightly more frugal than the Seltos Turbo. However, the German duo claims better fuel efficiency thanks to its Active Cylinder Technology (ACT), which shuts off two out of four cylinders in low load conditions to minimise fuel consumption. But on the contrary, the Korean SUVs provide slightly better engine output.
• MG Astor is the least potent offering here and is only available with an automatic gearbox. When it comes to fuel efficiency, its claimed figure is not known. However, it returns approximately 14.3 kmpl of mileage on highways and 9.5 kmpl in city conditions in real-world scenarios.

Kia offers the turbocharged petrol engine option with Seltos’ mid-spec variant onwards, making it the most affordable option in this comparison. On the other hand, the MG Astor is only available with the range-topping Savvy Pro variant, which represents the highest entry point among the SUVs considered. However, this also means it offers the most affordable option for any SUV’s top-spec variant.
