Hyundai Creta Facelift Revealed At The 2021 GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show

Starting with the design, the updated Creta now features an all-new â€˜Parametric Jewel’ grille with seamlessly integrated hidden-type daytime running lamps (DRLs). It also gets unique vertically stacked LED headlamps and a revised front bumper with silver inserts. With all these changes, the facelifted SUV will remind you of the new-gen Hyundai Tucson.

While the side profile of the SUV remains unchanged, the rear gets slightly tweaked LED tail lamps, a revised boot gate, and a reprofiled bumper with black & silver treatment on the lower section. Also, it now misses out on the LED light bar, positioned between the tail lamps on the existing model.

Inside the cabin, the facelifted Creta carries forward the same dashboard layout as the ongoing model save for the addition of the 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster from the 6/7-seater Alcazar. But the most striking accumulation comes in the form of ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) that comprises various active safety techs like forward collision avoidance, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, driver attention monitoring, blind-spot monitoring, and autonomous emergency braking.

Other features include a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, BlueLink connected car tech, an in-built air purifier, a wireless phone charger, panoramic sunroof, auto climate control, an eight-speaker Bose sound system, ventilated front seats, cruise control, multiple drive modes (Eco, Comfort, Smart, Sport), up to six airbags, ABS with EBD, tyre pressure monitoring system, traction control, hill start assist, and rear-view monitor, etc.

Powering the Indonesian-spec Hyundai Creta is a 115PS 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, paired with a 6-speed manual and an optional Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT). However, its Indian-bound version will also get its existing 115PS 1.5-litre diesel and 140PS 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engines. It could also feature a 6-speed iMT (clutchless manual transmission) paired with its 1.5-litre petrol and diesel units.

Expect Hyundai to launch the new Creta by mid-2022 in India. Once launched, it will emerge as a more competitive option against the MG Astor, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, and Nissan Kicks.
