Honda To Unveil A New Compact SUV On November 11

Honda has released a new teaser image of its upcoming utility vehicle, confirming its global debut on 11th November at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS). It is likely to be a Hyundai Creta-rivalling SUV that could also make its way to the Indian market. However, the Japanese carmaker is yet to make any announcement regarding its arrival on our shores.

While the details of the new Honda SUV are scarce at the moment, the teaser displays a glimpse of its rear quarter, highlighting a tapered roofline and a curve around the C-pillar that gives it a coupe-like silhouette. Its other notable design bits include LED headlamps, side door-cladding, prominent roof rails, raked rear windshield, and LED tail lamps with a connecting LED light bar.

We expect Honda to offer this new SUV with plenty of premium features, including a large touchscreen infotainment system with connected car technology, Honda LaneWatch, and Honda Sensing Suite that comprises various intelligent safety and driving assistant features like Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Road Departure Mitigation System (RDM), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR), blind-spot detection, cross-traffic monitoring system, auto high-beam assist for headlamps, and much more.

Powering its Indian-bound version could be fifth-gen Honda City’s 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol (121PS/145Nm) and diesel (100PS/200Nm) engines along with a 1.5-liter iMMD (intelligent-Multi Mode Drive) petrol engine, paired with two electric motors. The same hybrid powertrain also powers the Jazz and City Hybrid in Thailand & other markets. It is claimed to return an impressive fuel efficiency of over 27kmpl.

Stay tuned to gaadify for more updates on the upcoming Honda Sports Utility Vehicle.
