Honda 0 Alpha Will Be The Brand’s First EV For India

At the ongoing Japan Mobility Show 2025, Honda has unveiled its new 0 α (Alpha) concept EV – the brand’s first all-electric model for India. It will be the first offering from Honda’s upcoming 0 series, and will be locally manufactured in India.

Earlier, the carmaker had planned to introduce an electric version of the Elevate SUV by 2026. But it now seems that the plan has either been revised or shelved in favour of this new global EV.

Honda 0 α: Exterior Design

This new Honda SUV follows the brand’s “Thin, Light and Wise” design language, showcasing Honda’s future design and engineering direction. Like other Honda EVs available in the global market, the new Honda 0 Alpha looks sleek yet muscular, striking a balance between futuristic styling and SUV practicality.

Honda has gone for a ‘thin’ design approach—keeping the SUV low in height for better aerodynamics while maintaining a tall ground clearance. Up front, it gets a wide screen panel that integrates the headlights, charging port and an illuminated Honda logo. The thick bumper cladding with silver inserts adds a rugged SUV touch.

From the sides, the sloping roofline and sharply rising window line give it a coupe-like stance, while the black roof insert, aero-style alloy wheels, and flush door handles enhance its modern appeal. The rear design is equally bold, with a rectangular windshield and U-shaped LED taillamps connected by a black panel, giving it a distinct identity.

Honda 0 α: Interior and Features

Honda is yet to share the interior layout of the upcoming Honda 0 Alpha. However, we expect it to boast a minimal yet tech-forward theme. It is likely to get multiple screens and futuristic features to enhance the driving and cabin experiences.

Honda 0 α specifications

Platform and Technical Specifications

The 0 Aloha concept is based on a new skateboard EV platform designed for better space efficiency. Its wheelbase length will be around 2,700-2,800mm. Honda has also confirmed that it will be a single-motor, FWD (front-wheel-drive) offering, with two LFP battery pack options (likely to be 65kWh-75kWh units).

Expected Launch and Rivals

Honda plans to launch its production version in India by the first half of 2027, positioning it against the likes of Mahindra BE 6, Hyundai Creta Electric and the upcoming Maruti e-Vitara.
