Hero Splendor Plus Xtec Now Available With Disc Brake

Hero MotoCorp has introduced the Splendor Plus Xtec variant with the front disc brake option. Priced at Rs 83,461 (ex-showroom), it is Rs 3,500 more expensive than its drum brake version.

Hero has equipped the Splendor Plus Xtec Disc variant with a 240mm front disc brake and 130mm rear drum, with a Combined Braking System (CBS) as standard fitment. This setup would improve braking efficiency, offering better control and stability during sudden stops. However, it would have been even better if Hero had introduced a single-channel ABS, like the one found on the Bajaj Platina 110. For those unaware, ABS prevents wheel lockup during hard braking, further improving safety and offering greater confidence, particularly on slippery/wet roads.

Compared to the Drum Brake variant, it skips the Pearl Fadeless White colour option. At 113.6kg, the Disc variant is also 1.6kg heavier than the Drum variant.

Rest all remain unchanged. It continues to get features like a fully digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth-based smartphone connectivity support, call/SMS alerts, real-time mileage indicator, alloy wheels, tubeless tyres and more.

What Powers The Hero Splendor Plus?

Powering the Splendor Plus is a 97.2cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that belts out 8.02PS of max power at 8,000 rpm and 8.05Nm of peak torque at 6,000 rpm. It comes paired with a 4-speed gearbox.

Competition Check

In the budget commuter segment, the Splendor Plus goes up against the TVS Radeon, Honda Shine 100, Bajaj CT110X and Platina 110.
