Maruti Swift CNG Likely To Be Launched On This Date

Since the launch of the new-gen Maruti Suzuki Swift, there have been speculations about the launch of its CNG version. Now reports suggest that Maruti Suzuki could launch the Swift CNG on September 12, 2024.

The new Z12E 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine fitted with a factory-fitted CNG will power the Swift. It is expected to be paired with a 60-litre CNG tank in the boot. Expect it to offer roughly 70PS of power and 100Nm of peak torque. It is likely to be offered only with a 5-speed manual gearbox.

The new Z-Series engine in the Swift is claimed to deliver a fuel efficiency of 24.8kmpl. In its CNG variant, the Swift is expected to offer over 32km/kg. For reference, the previous-generation Swift CNG had a claimed efficiency of 30.9km/kg, whereas the current-gen Swift boasts a 24.80 kmpl fuel efficiency figure with the manual and a best-in-class 25.75 kmpl with the AMT gearbox.
