A fleet of 2,978 units of the Force Gurkha SUV will soon be inducted into the Indian Defence Forces. This was recently announced by Force Motors itself, as the brand has secured an order from the Indian forces, further strengthening its presence in defence operations. A Gurkha-based Light Strike Vehicle (LSV) has already been serving the Indian military since 2018.
Commenting on this announcement, Mr. Prasan Firodia, Managing Director, Force Motors, said: “We are honored to continue our association with the Indian Defence Forces through this substantial order. Our vehicles are designed with a focus on quality, reliability, ruggedness, and performance, aligning perfectly with the operational needs of our defence personnel. This order is a testament to the trust and confidence Indian Defence Forces place in Force Motors.”

About Force Gurkha
The Force Gurkha is a hard-core 4×4 off-roader that borrows its design cues from the Mercedes G-Wagon. Up front, it gets circular LED headlamps with integrated DRLs, giving it a modern appeal. The chunky black bumper and cladding throughout add to its off-road appeal while also enhancing protection. It also gets a factory-fitted snorkel for better water-wading capability, allowing the SUV to tackle deep water crossings with ease. Furthermore, its squared wheel arches, muscular boxy stance, and high ground clearance sweeten its adventure-ready design.
Currently, the Gurkha is available in both 3-door and 5-door configurations.

Powering both the Gurkha is a Mercedes-sourced 2.6-litre diesel engine that generates an impressive power output of up to 140PS and a peak torque of 320Nm. It also benefits from an idle engine start/stop system to enhance its fuel efficiency. For transmission duties, it is offered with a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 4×4 drive system.
At present, the prices of the Force Gurkha start from Rs 16.75 lakh (ex-showroom) for the 3-door and Rs 18 lakh (ex-showroom) for the 5-door version. It can be seen as a more rugged alternative to the Maruti Jimny and Mahindra Thar/Thar Roxx.
