Ferrari, the Italian supercar maker, has introduced the 849 Testarossa for the Indian market. It’s the brand’s latest flagship series-production supercar that replaces the SF90 Stradale in the brand’s global lineup.

What’s Underneath?
- At the heart of the Ferrari 849 Testarossa is a 830PS 4-litre twin turbocharged V8 petrol engine, paired with plug-in-hybrid system comprising a 7.45 kWh battery and three electric motors, two on the front axle and one between the engine and the gearbox at the rear, producing a combined output of a massive 1,050PS. It also claims a pure electric range of 16–25 km.
- The power is sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
- Ferrari claims it can complete the century sprint in under 2.3 seconds before attaining an electronically limited top speed of 330 kmph.

Retro Inspiration with Modern Touch
- The new Ferrari 849 Testarossa pays homage to the brand’s heritage while embracing modern aerodynamic detailing.
- Upfront, the car features L-shaped LED headlamps connected by a gloss black strip across the bonnet. However, the key highlight are its muscular wheel arches and sharply flowing roof that aggresivelly merges from the centre section into the twin-tail architecture at the rear.
- Furthermore, its flying buttresses and prominent air intakes that channel air towards the mid-mounted engine provides it an aggressive appearance.
- Rounding off the overall dramatic appearance are the sculpted rear bumper which integrates a pair of round exhaust pipes at the centre.

Interior and Features
- Inside, the new Testarossa featurea a driver-focused cockpit, featuring a large 16-inch digital display and a central “SAIL” design with gear selector and controls.
- There’s also a 9-inch screen on the passenger side to view performance data and vehicle information. Surprisingly, there is no central infotainment system in the 849 Testarossa.
- Key features include a 7-speaker audio system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a flat-botton 3-spoke steering wheel with physicalbuttons and iconic engine start button, high-quality materials such as carbon fibre & aluminium, carbon-ceramic brakes, advanced traction control and multiple stability management systems.
Rivals
Lamborghini Revuelto, McLaren 750S and Aston Martin Valhalla could be considered as the closest rivals to the Ferrari 849 Testarossa.
