Tata Motors has teased the facelifted Tiago NRG in a new green shade with a blacked-out roof and outside rearview mirrors (ORVMs). It is scheduled to be launched on August 4. The crossover model was suspended from the Indian market ahead of the facelifted hatchback’s launch in January last year.

Compared to the now-discontinued pre-facelift model, the 2021 Tiago NRG will get a few cosmetic changes in line with the ongoing facelifted Tiago. These revisions will include redone dual-tone alloy wheels, restyled headlamps & taillamps, and a revised front grille as well as new bumpers at both ends. Besides, it will continue to get all-around body cladding, higher ground clearance, different color schemes, and a black plastic element on the tailgate, giving it a different appearance from the standard Tiago.
The cabin will also receive some revisions in the form of updated fabric upholstery, a new 7-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic AC, new flat-bottom steering wheels with audio & telephony controls, a digital instrument cluster, keyless entry, and height-adjustable driver seat. Passenger safety should be embraced by dual airbags, ABS with EBD, front seat belt reminder, speed alert system, and rear parking sensors with a camera.
Powering the facelifted Tiago NRG will be the same BS6 86PS 1.2-liter Revotron petrol engine paired to a 5-speed manual and AMT transmissions.

Considering all the tweaks, the 2021 Tata Tiago NRG is expected to charge a premium of around Rs 30,000 over the standard Tiago, which retails from Rs 4.99 lakh to Rs 6.95 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). It will take on the Maruti Suzuki Celerio X (Rs 5.11 lakh to Rs 5.91 lakh), which is also due for a generational change.
