Mahindra XUV700 has created a lot of buzz in the Indian market for some good reasons. The aggressively priced features-packed mid-size SUV has received over 65,000 bookings so far. And now, deliveries of its petrol variants have begun across the nation, while the diesel trims will be delivered from the last week of November. Mahindra has plans to hand over up to 14,000 units of XUV700 by January 14, 2022.

As per its promise, Mahindra has also gifted the Javelin Edition of the XUV700 to the Paralympian Sumit Antil, who has won a gold medal in men's javelin throw in the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics. The automaker will also gift the SUV to Neeraj Chopra and Avani Lekhara.
Mahindra offers the XUV700 with two engine options – 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol and 2.2-liter turbo-diesel. The former generates a maximum power output of 200PS and 380Nm of peak torque, making it the segment's most powerful & torquiest gasoline mill. The oil burner, on the other hand, comes in three states of tunes: – 155PS/360Nm for the MX trim, 185PS/420Nm for the AX manual, and 185PS/450Nm for AX automatic trims. Both engines come with a 6-speed manual and torque converter automatic transmission.

There are four variants on offers – MX, AX3, AX5, and AX7. The base-spec MX and top-spec AX7 trims are only available in a 5-seater and 7-seater configuration, respectively, while the mid-spec AX3 and AX5 variants come in both seating options. Features onboard include an all-LED illumination system, two 10.25-inch connected screens for the infotainment and digital instrument cluster, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, connected car technology with Alexa-AI assistant, dual-zone climate control, segment's largest panoramic sunroof, powered driver's seat with memory function, flush-fitting door handles, up to 7-airbags, ABS with EBD, front & rear parking sensors, electronic stability control, and multiple driving modes (diesel only), etc. Safety features include up to seven airbags, ABS with EBD, a 360-degree camera, blind view monitoring, electronic stability, and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) that further include features like adaptive cruise control, pilot assist, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and lane-keeping assist.
Currently, the Mahindra XUV700 is priced from Rs 12.49 lakh to Rs 22.99 lakh (ex-showroom). However, it is worth noting that any booking made after October 8 will be subjected to rates prevailing at the time of delivery. It rivals the Tata Harrier/Safari, MG Hector/Hector Plus. Hyundai Creta/Alcazar, Kia Seltos, Nissan Kicks, Skoda Kushaq, and Volkswagen Taigun.
