Deliveries of Mahindra Scorpio N To Start From Today

  • Deliveries of Mahindra Scorpio N to start from today.
  • Deliveries of the top-spec Z8 L variant will be prioritized.
  • Buyers will have to face an average waiting period of up to 4 months on the first batch of the Scorpio N.

From today, Mahindra Scorpio N deliveries will begin for the earliest buyers. The company has plans to
deliver over 7,000 units of the SUV by Dussehra. Mahindra has also said to prioritize deliveries of the top-spec Z8L variants and assured their deliveries from the first lot of 25,000 SUVs in two months. The waiting period for other variants of the first batch will be around four months.

Launched in June this year, the Mahindra Scorpio N received an overwhelming response from buyers. It received over 1 lakh takers within the first 30 minutes of the booking commencement. The introductory prices will, however, be only applicable to the first 25,000 bookings. The rest orders will be sold as per the prices prevalent at the time of delivery. We expect the second lot of the SUV will command a premium of up to Rs 50,000 over the launch prices.

For those who aren’t aware, the Mahindra Scorpio N comes in five variants: Z2, Z4, Z6, Z8, and Z8 L. It gets two engine options: a 2.0-liter turbo-petrol (up to 202PS/380Nm) and 2.2-liter diesel (up to 175PS/400Nm), with a choice of 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic transmissions. While the rear-wheel-drivetrain (RWD) is standard, the four-wheel-drivetrain (4WD) is reserved for diesel variants.

Features onboard the SUV include an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment with Apple Carplay and Android Auto, connected car tech, what3words navigation, a 12-speaker Sony sound system with roof-mounted speakers, dual-zone climate control, 6-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, a wireless phone charger, a single-pane sunroof, cruise control, driver drowsiness detection, advanced electronic stability control, front & rear camera, and up to six airbags. Being a body-on-frame SUV, the Mahindra Scorpio N doesn’t have any direct challenger in the Indian market. But, it can be seen as a more rugged alternative to the Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus, and Toyota Innova Crysta.
