Citroen has started taking pre-launch bookings for the upcoming Basalt X for a token amount of Rs 11,000. Similar to the recently launched Citroen C3 X, the Basalt X is also expected to receive cosmetic and equipment upgrades. Interested customers can make their bookings either online or at an authorised Citreon dealership.
Citroen Basalt X: What To Expect?
Going by the teaser images, the Basalt X is expected to get a new pattern imprint on the dashboard, along with bronze accents. Additionally, it is also expected to receive a new black & tan upholstery. There could also be some new feature additions, such as keyless entry with push-button start/stop, cruise control and an optional 360-degree camera.
While it’s not official, the French coupe could also get a new paint option.

Amenities like LED projector headlamps, LED fog lamps, front & rear skid plates, sliding front armrest, rear centre armrest, a 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, digital instrument cluster, steering mounted controls, auto AC, rear AC vents, rear defogger, height-adjustable driver’s seat, leather-wrapped steering wheel, boot lamp, six airbags, TPMS, ISOFIX child seat anchors, hill hold, and rear view camera will continue be on offer.
Mechanical Changes?
We do not expect any mechanical changes underneath the hood. It will continue with its 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine, producing 110PS of max power and up to 250Nm of peak torque. It can be had with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.

Citroen Basalt X: Expected Price and Rivals
Expect the Basalt X to command a premium somewhere around Rs 10,000 to Rs 25,000 over the ongoing model. Upon launch, it will continue to serve as an affordable alternative to the Tata Curvv.
