Engine & Gearbox Option
The BS6 compliant Marazzo is powered by the same 1.5-liter turbo diesel engine. The BS6 update hasn't affected its output figures. It continues to develop a max power output of 121PS in normal mode and 100PS in Eco mode. The torque output stands at 300Nm. The engine is only available with 6-speed manual transmission. However, in the near future, Mahindra is likely to introduce a new 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine from the mStallion series, which was showcased at Auto Expo 2020.
Marazzo petrol is expected to be launch around the festive season along with an automatic transmission, that will available with both the diesel and the petrol motor.
Author's Take
The Mahindra Marazzo doesn't have any direct rivals in the Indian market. However, it has always been seen as an alternative to the Toyota Innova Crysta due to its lesser price range. Available in both 7 and 8 seating configurations, it offers astounding cabin space and comfort. With the BS6 update, it has become more affordable which is a good sign and offers a better value for money. If Mahindra takes out an attractive and economical package keeping fleet operators in mind, then the dice can turn in the interest of Mahindra.
