The BMX iX has received a new top-of-the-line xDrive50 variant, priced at Rs 14 crore (ex-showroom). At this price point, it is Rs 19 lakh more expensive than the xDrive40 variant. Compared to the entry-level xDrive40 variant, the new xDrive50 variant boasts a larger battery pack and a more powerful motor.
BMW iX xDrive50 – What’s Special?
- To start with, the BMW iX xDrive50 looks essentially the same as the xDrive40 variant; however, it gets larger 22-inch alloy wheels.
- Underneath the hood, the xDrive50 features a larger 111.5kWh battery pack, which claims a WLTP-certified range of 635 kilometres on a single charge.
- It has a dual-motor AWD setup, one on each axle, offering a combined power output of 523PS and 765Nm. This enables it to sprint from 0 to 100kmph in just 4.6 seconds.
- Regarding charging, the xDrive50 supports rapid charging of up to 195kW, which juices up its battery pack by 10 to 80 per cent in just 35 minutes. The 50kW DC fast charger takes around 97 minutes for the same.

The iX xDrive50 is a well-equipped electric SUV with features like programmable LED DRLs, twin connected displays comprising a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display and 14.9-inch infotainment, connected car tech, eSim connectivity, Apple Carplay and Android Auto, 18-speaker Harmon Kardon sound system, panoramic sky roof, wireless charging, power tailgate, four-zone climate control, powered front seats, heated steering, parking assist, multiple airbags, driving modes, and Active Driving Assistant features like adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, high-beam assist, and active blind spot detection.
