Audi Q5 Gets A Special Edition At Rs 67.05 Lakh

Audi has launched a special edition variant of the Q5 SUV in India at Rs 67.05 lakh (ex-showroom). Based on the top-spec Technology variant, the Special Edition is Rs 84,000 more expensive. For this added premium, it gets a host of cosmetic enhancements for a sportier appearance.

While the carmaker hasn’t announced the exact numbers, the Special Edition will be sold in limited quantities in India.

Audi Q5 Special Edition – What’s New?

The Audi Q5 Special Edition gets a few cosmetic changes when compared to the standard model. First of all, it receives a new black styling package, with elements such as the front grille, badging, roof rails, and ORVMs being finished in black. It also receives new five-spoke, diamond-cut 20-inch alloys that sweeten the premium aspect. There is also a special discount on the carmaker’s official accessories for owners of the Q5 Special Edition.

Audi has offered the Q5 Special Edition in two exclusive colour options: District Green and Ibis White.

Key Features

Since the Limited Edition is based on the Technology variant, it gets all the bells & whistles of the standard model, such as a  10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment display with Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, wireless phone charging, three-zone climate control, a 755-watt, 19-speaker B&O 3D sound system, ambient lighting, power-adjustable front seats with a memory function for the driver, eight airbags and parking assist.

Engine and Performance

Mechanically, the SUV remains unchanged. Meaning the Q5 Special Edition continues to get the 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine (245PS/370Nm) beneath the bonnet, driving all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission. It can sprint from a standstill to 100kmph in just 6.3 seconds before attaining a top speed of 237kmph.

In the Indian market, the Audi Q5 fight against the likes of the BMW X3, Mercedes-Benz GLC, and the Volvo XC60.
