Audi Issues Recall For Q8 e-tron, Sportback Over Brake Concern

Audi India has issued a voluntary recall for 207 units of the Q8 e-tron and Q8 e-tron Sportback, along with their respective pre-facelift versions, over an issue related to the bolted connection of the brake servo push rod. While the brand does not reveal the exact number of units for each model, the affected vehicles were manufactured between February 2, 2018 and June 11, 2024.

As mentioned above, the problem is with a bolt that connects the brake system. It may not be made exactly as required specifications and could become loose over time. In such a case, the mechanical connection between the brake pedal and the brake system may not stay secure.

Commenting on this, SIAM stated that “In the unlikely event that the connection were to become completely loose, these vehicles are equipped with a controlled emergency braking function, which can be activated by pressing and holding the electromechanical parking brake button on the centre console.”
