Audi e-Tron: Powertrain, Range, Top-Speed and Charging Time
Both the variants of Audi e-tron are powered by a twin-electric motor setup (one on each axle), which draws its charge from a lithium-ion battery pack that can store up to 83.7kWh of energy net and claims a range of up to 500km for the standard e-tron GT and 481km for the RS e-tron GT as per the WLTP cycle.
The base-spec Audi e-tron GT Quattro features a 238PS front and 435PS rear electric motor that generates a combined output of 476PS and 630Nm. When the Launch Control mode is engaged, the output increases all the way to 530PS/640Nm, in just 2.5 seconds. This allows the vehicle to accelerate from standstill to 100kmph in merely 4.1 seconds before attaining a top speed of 245kmph. On the other hand, the front and rear motor of the top-spec RS e-tron GT version kicks out 238PS and 456PS, respectively, resulting in combined engine output of 598PS and 830Nm, which can further shoot up to 646PS in Launch Control mode. The car can rocket from 0-100 kmph in 3.3 seconds and has a top speed of 250kmph.
Talking about its charging capabilities, it supports 800-volt 270 kW ultra-fast DC charging that can charge its battery for 75% in simply 22.5 minutes, whereas the 11kW and 22kW AC chargers take up to 9.30 hrs and 5.15 hrs, respectively. The battery charging flaps are integrated behind the front wheels. The Audi E-Tron GT Quattro can consume around 19.6 to 18.8kWh for every 100 km, while the RS E-Tron GT uses 20.2 to 19.3kWh for the same distance.
Audi e-Tron: Design & Features
The Audi e-tron GT is essentially a sporty coupe-like electric sedan that shares its underpinnings with Porsche Taycan. However, its design is unmistakably Audi. It sports a sleek & dynamic exterior design, which is emphasized by a long wheelbase, a gradually sloping roofline, wave-like shoulder line, and a low bonnet. It features Audi’s single-frame grille up front with a black surround that not only gives it a contract appeal but also ducks a number of sensors used by the car’s driver-assist systems. The car is also equipped with Audi's signature matrix LED headlamps. On the rear, the car features a width spanning LED tail lights with arrow-shaped LED elements along with a lip spoiler and a sporty diffuser.
