Almost 3.87 Lakh Maruti Suzuki Cars Awaiting Deliveries

Planning to buy a new Maruti Suzuki car? Well, get ready to face a high waiting period as almost 3.87 lakh Maruti Suzuki cars are awaiting deliveries. This huge backlog is probably due to global supply disruptions, material shortages, and frequent launches.

Approximately 1,26,000 units of the pending orders belong to Maruti Suzuki’s CNG models, representing 33 percent of the total number of orders. As of now, Maruti has as many as 10 CNG models in its lineup: Alto, Eeco, S-Presso, Wagon R, Celerio, Dzire, Swift, Ertiga, Super Carry (commercial), and Tour-S (commercial). The recently introduced Alto K10 will also join the CNG tribe soon.

The new-generation Maruti Suzuki Brezza and the upcoming Grand Vitara also have strong demand in the market. While almost 30,000 orders of the new Brezza are yet to be delivered, the Grand Vitara has already received over 40,000 bookings ahead of its launch in September 2022. Furthermore, deliveries of 38,000 units of Maruti’s highly popular Baleno premium hatchback are also pending.

Maruti Suzuki’s total vehicle manufacturing capacity stands at 2.3 million units per annum. It produced around 6.34 lakh units from April-July 2022. However, it is unclear when production will return to 100%.
