11th Generation Honda Civic – Design
The production-spec Honda Civic looks quite similar to its prototype version, which was revealed in November 2021. The brand has done away with the sharp lines & creases. As a result, it looks more sophisticated and cleaner. In fact, it seems like a toned-downed Accord.
It features a completely new front fascia with a blacked-out thin grille complemented by colored bodywork and elongated LED headlamps that come with integrated DRLs. The newly designed bumper of the Civic gives it an aggressive look thanks to the large radiator grille and neatly tucked LED fog lamps into the corners, finished in black housing.
The new Civic gets an absolute side silhouette with door-mounted ORVMs and a slanted roofline that gives it a sporty character. Honda has also preserved its low & wide posture that is a typical Civic trademark. At 4,673mm, it is also longer than the outgoing model. The wheelbase of the car (2,735mm) has also been increased by 35mm. However, its height (1,414mm) has been reduced by 19mm. There is also a defined character line covering the entire length of the car and blends elegantly in the angular LED tail lamps. It gets 19-inch black finished spoke alloy wheels, shod in 235-section Pirelli Pilot Super Sport tires.
Honda has offered the new Civic in eight color options, out of which three are new. These are Meteorite Gray Metallic, Sonic Gray Pearl, and Morning Mist Blue Metallic.

Interior & Features
The interior of the all-new Civic emphasizes a minimalistic design approach. The dashboard of the upgraded sedan is parted into two parts, separated by a honeycomb-mesh pattern design running along the dashboard’s width that also incorporates aircon vents within itself.
Taking the central stage of the dash is a 9-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system, featuring wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone connectivity. The lower variants of the sedan will also get a freestanding touchscreen unit, albeit in a smaller size (7-inch). The other notable features of the 2022 Civic include dual-zone climate control, a 12-speaker Bose sound system, wireless charging, multifunction steering wheel, paddle shifters (for selected variants), and a 10.2-inch digital driver’s display (lower variants will get an analog instrument cluster with a 7.0-inch MID).
The new Civic also stresses the passenger's safety. It gets 10 airbags including rear-seat side airbags and doughnut-shaped front airbags, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, traffic jam assist, false start prevention, low-speed braking control, and a new single-camera system with a wider field of view.
Powertrain and Underpinnings
The 11th-gen Civic will be a petrol-only offering, at least for the American market. It will continue to be available with either a 2.0-liter petrol (158PS/187Nm) or a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol (180PS/240Nm) unit, mated to a CVT automatic transmission. It also gets three drive modes: Eco, Normal, and Sport. Besides, the brand has modified the Civic's chassis, making it more rigid than its predecessor. The brand has also retuned its suspensions and steering setup for more driver-focused ride and handling characteristics.
Will the new Civic launch in India?
There are no official words from Honda about its India launch. But considering the low sales of 10th-generation facelifted Civic in India, it is unlikely to come to our shore anytime soon.
