Suzuki e-Access: Everything You Need To Know About

Suzuki has finally launched the much-awaited e-Access electric scooter in India at a hefty price tag of Rs 1,88,490 (ex-showroom). Its bookings are now open across all authorised Suzuki dealerships in the country. It will also be available for online sale at Flipkart once the sales begin.

Suzuki is also providing the scooter with an assured buyback prgram and felxible rental options, details of which are mentioned below.

Suzuki e-Access: Design and Powertrain

Based on a lightweight steel-tube frame, the all-new Suzuki e-Access features conventional Japanese styling and weighs 122kg. That makes it roughly 20kg heavier than its ICE counterpart. It features an aluminium battery case integrated into the frame for enhanced rigidity, smooth cornering, and balanced straight-line stability.

Powering the EV is a fixed 3.072kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery pack that offers a claimed range of 95 km. It is claimed to have roughly four times longer life than conventional Nickel Manganese Cobalt (NMC) batteries. It gets a 4.1kW electric motor that produces 15Nm of peak torque.

Author’s Take

We have already seen this with the Honda e-Activa, which carries a hefty price tag despite offering range and features comparable to electric scooters priced around Rs 1 lakh. Suzuki appears to be repeating the same mistake.

Arriving late to India’s electric two-wheeler space, the e-Access represents Suzuki’s first entry into the segment, but at a decidedly premium price. And going by its pricing, it falls short in terms of range, performance, and features when compared to several competitors that cost nearly half as much.

While Suzuki’s strong brand recall, proven reliability, and build quality may appeal to its loyal customer base, the pricing puts the e-Access at a disadvantage in an already crowded, value-focused electric scooter market.
