Tata Curvv and Curvv EV Dark Edition – What’s Special?

Similar to other Dark Editions in Tata’s lineup, the Curvv and Curvv EV Dark Editions also feature an all-black treatment inside and out for a stealthier appeal. They come drapped in a Carbon Black body shade, with the logos and badging finished in dark chrome. The skid plates, ORVMs, and alloys also get a blacked-out treatment to match the overall theme. They also get #DARK badging on the front fenders.

Inside, they flaunt an all-black theme, with black upholstery, darker headliner and #DARK embossing on the headrests.

Features Onboard

The Dark Edition variants get all the features of their regular counterparts. The key highlights include automatic LED headlamps, alloy wheels, a 12.3-inch floating touchscreen infotainment, a 10.25-inch digital cluster, a 9-speaker JBL sound system, a panoramic sunroof, a wireless smartphone charger, dual-zone climate control, ventilated front seats, reclining rear seats, an in-built air purifier, a powered tailgate with gesture control and more.

For safety, the Curvv gets six airbags, ABS with EBD, a tire pressure monitoring system, a 360-degree camera, front & rear parking sensors, and a level-2 ADAS suite, with key amenities like auto emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist and more.

Powertrain Options

Since Dark Editions are just cosmetic enhancement, both the Curvv continue to get the same powertrain options, irrespective to their nature.

Since the Dark Editions are purely cosmetic enhancements, both Curvv variants continue to get the same powertrain options, regardless of their nature. For reference, the ICE-powered Curvv Accomplished variants can be had with either a 1.2-litre TGDi turbo-petrol (125PS/225Nm) or a 1.5-litre diesel (118PS/260Nm). On the other hand, the Curvv EV Empowered Plus A comes with the bigger 55kWh battery pack, which powers the front axle-mounted PMS motor, generating 167PS of max power and 215Nm of peak torque. It claims (MIDC Part 1 + Part 2) a range of 502 kilometers on a full charge.

Rivals

While the ICE-powered Curvv can be seen as a coupe alternative to the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Honda Elevate, VW Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Maruti Grand Vitara, and Toyota Hyryder, its electric derivative locks horns with the Hyundai Creta Electric, MG ZS EV and the upcoming Maruti eVitara.
