Upcoming Bajaj CNG Bike To Offer Over 100km Mileage; Launch On June 18

Bajaj Auto is preparing to introduce India’s first CNG bike on June 18, 2024. This announcement was made during the launch event of the Pulsar NS400Z. It might be named the “Bruzer,” as the manufacturer has recently trademarked it.

Official Claims Over 100km Mileage

A senior official at Bajaj revealed to us that the concept of the CNG bike for the Indian market was inspired by an Argentinian manufacturer. The company plans to introduce this bike not only in India but also in several global markets, including Colombia and Argentina, where CNG vehicles enjoy widespread popularity.

The official has also confirmed that the upcoming bike will indeed be a bi-fueled vehicle, equipped with an auxiliary petrol tank. Although it won’t offer a direct start in CNG mode, the bike will deliver a range of approximately 100km when fed with compressed natural gas.

Details regarding the engine capacity are still under wraps. However, given that the immediate objective of the CNG bikes is to reduce the running cost, we expect Bajaj will integrate this technology with an engine capacity likely ranging between 100 and 125cc.

According to earlier leaked images, the upcoming Bajaj CNG bike is likely to feature a perimeter frame that will accommodate a long CNG cylinder between the upper braces of the frame.

BAJAJ CNG BIKE launch date

The official also suggested that despite being aimed at customers seeking reduced operating expenses, the bike will come equipped with modern-day features. We anticipate it will have an LED headlamp & taillight, front disc brake, single-channel ABS, and a semi- or fully digital instrument cluster.

Bajaj is expected to price this upcoming CNG bike around Rs 80,000 (ex-showroom). Once launched, it will bridge the gap between petrol and electric motorcycles by providing both eco-friendliness and reduced operating costs.
