Honda City Facelift Spied Testing For The First Time

It’s been more than two years and a few months the fifth-generation Honda City arrived on our shores. And now, it’s set to receive a midlife facelift update. The revised version of the mid-size sedan has been spied for the first time in Thailand.

The image shows the slightly tweaked front bumper with new fog lamp housing and air dam. One could also notice its blacked-out alloy wheels & side mirrors. A redesigned rear bumper, side skirts, and spoiler will also be introduced as part of the facelift update.

The interior of the City facelift is yet to be seen, but we expect Honda to offer it with new infotainment, revised upholstery and an updated cabin theme. The carmaker could also add more equipment, including the ADAS suite, which is currently limited to its hybrid version only.

Honda is likely to offer the facelifted City with the same petrol and self-charging strong-hybrid powertrain options as the current model. However, its diesel engine is expected to be axed in the near future.

We assume Honda will launch the facelift iteration of the City sedan in India sometime in 2023, with prices expected to start from around Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, it will continue to go up against the Hyundai Verna, Maruti Ciaz, Skoda Slavia and Volkswagen Virtus.
