Facelifted Tata Nexon EV To Get All-Wheel Disc Brakes

Highlights: –

  • 2022 Nexon EV facelift will get all-wheel disc brakes.
  • A bigger battery pack with extended range, powerful motor, minor cosmetic updates, and more features will also be on the cards.

Tata Nexon EV is all set to receive a facelift update this year. It is likely to be launched by mid-2022. While we already know that it will get a bigger battery back and extended range over the ongoing model, recent spy images have also revealed that the electrified SUV will get rear disc brakes as well.

If reports are to be believed, the new Nexon EV could be sold alongside the ongoing model that comes with a 30.2kWh battery pack and offers a claimed-range of 312 kilometers (real-world range closer to 200kms). Its upgraded model will get a 30 percent bigger battery (40kWh capacity) to deliver a range of over 400km. Also, the brand has already homologated the SUV with a 136PS (100kW) electric motor that is 7PS more powerful than the current model.

While the test mule was heavily camouflaged, it is likely to receive some noticeable visual changes inside and out, along with a few new features, including selectable modes for regenerative braking, and Electronic Stability Program (ESP).

With all these changes, the prices of the 2022 Nexon EV facelift could be at par with the MG ZS EV and the Hyundai Kona Electric. But for now, you can bring the electric car home at an ex-showroom price (Delhi) of Rs 14.29 lakh to Rs 16.90 lakh, depending on the variant.
