Royal Enfield has recently filed a trademark called the 'Scram', which could be used for RE's upcoming scrambler motorcycle. Speculations are being made that it would be a 650cc scrambler; however, it is yet to be confirmed officially.

As of now, Royal Enfield has two 650cc models in its line-up – Interceptor 650 (a retro roadster) and Continental GT 650 (a cafe racer). Soon an all-new cruiser (likely to be called Shotgun) will also make its debut in the same 650cc line-up. It, therefore, seems more logical that the upcoming Royal Enfield Scrambler will also be a 650cc offering, as it will strengthen the brand's global products line-up. That said, it could also be powered by the same 648cc parallel-twin air-cooled (with oil cooler) engine as the 650 twins’ that is good enough in producing 47.6PS/52Nm.

Considering the fact that the 350cc segment bikes generate more than 90% market share for the Royal Enfield, we cannot deny the possibility that the upcoming Royal Enfield Scram could also be based on the Meteor 350. Also, the RE's new 349cc motor is more refined than its UCE engines. So launching the Scram in the 350cc segment will fasten the RE's 350cc portfolio alongside keeping it fresh for the buyers.
While it would be early to say anything about its design and features, it is expected to come with wire-spoke wheels at both ends with block pattern tyres helping it to take on the trails. Besides, we could also see elements like round headlamps, taller handlebars, raised fenders, fork gaiters, engine bash plate, and a long flatter seat, etc.
Although we are not sure of its engine type, it is evident that it will be more expensive than the motorcycle it will be based on (either Meteor 350 or Interceptor 650). For reference, the Meteor 350 currently retails from Rs 1.84 lakh to 1.99 lakh, whereas the Interceptor 650 is priced between Rs 2.56 lakh and Rs 2.88 lakh (both prices ex-showroom).
