Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler Pickup Truck Unveiled In Production Avatar

The much-awaited Mahindra Scorpio N-based pick-up truck has finally been revealed for the Indian market. Christened as ‘Scorpio Lifestyler’, this lifestyle vehicle is based on the brand’s next-gen ladder frame and essentially a pre-production version of the ‘Global Pik Up‘ concept showcased in 2023. It will be launched by April 2027, with prices starting under Rs 19.79 lakh (ex-showroom).

Exterior Design and Dimensions

Designed at Mahindra India Design Studio (MIDS), the new Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler looks rugged and muscular. Upfront, it features a large gloss-black grille with hexagonal elements, flanked by rectangular LED projector headlamps that feature integrated inverted L-shaped DRLs. Below them are vertically stacked LED fog lamps on either side of the aggressively styled bumper that also features a massive silver-finished skid plate and red tow-hook.

Featured in a double-cab configuration, its side profile is largely identical to the Scorpio N up to the C-pillar; however, the design of the rear door has been slightly revised. Furthermore, it has a longer wheelbase than the Scorpio N to accommodate the large truck bed.

Towards the rear, the off-roader features C-shaped LED tail lamps and a rugged-looking black bumper with an integrated step to access the cargo bed. There’s also the “Mahindra” lettering moulded on the tailgate.

Interior and Features

Inside, the pickup truck features an elevated/upright dashboard layout, with a larger portrait-oriented touchscreen infotainment system taking centre stage. It also features a floating digital driver’s display, which is highly customisable, along with a new 4-spoke steering wheel. In terms of features, it comes equipped with the following amenities: –

  • Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
  • Dual-zone climate control
  • Connected car tech
  • Large centre armrest
  • A rotary dial for the 4×4 system
  • Push-button start/stop with keyless entry
  • Terrain modes

Engine Options

While Mahindra hasn’t revealed the specifications of the Scorpio Lifestyler, it is expected to be powered by Mahindra’s 2nd-generation all-aluminium mHawk diesel engine. It can be mated to either a 6-speed manual or an Aisin-sourced 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. A 4×4 drivetrain will also be provided with the SUV.

Rivals Check

The Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler will serve as an affordable alternative to the Isuzu V-Cross (Rs 25.50 – 30 lakh) and Toyota Hilux (Rs 31.99 – 36.69 lakh). The latter has recently entered a new generation.
