Hyundai AX1 – What does the teaser image reveal?

Just like the Hyundai Venue, the upcoming AX1 small SUV will also get a split headlamp set up with the main headlamp assembly positioned on the bumper. It will be a round projector unit with an LED daytime running lamp around the periphery. The image also providing a view of the upper lighting cluster which is likely to be the turn indicators.

What else we know about the Hyundai AX1?

Well, Hyundai is yet to reveal any details about the upcoming micro-SUV. However, based on the numerous spy shots, we know that the AX1 will get Venue like boxy silhouette and upright stance. The other notable design elements of the Hyundai AX1 include C-Pillar door handles, squared wheel arches with black cladding around the body, sharkfin antenna, and roof rails. The earlier spy images have also exposed its alloy wheel design that looks sporty and their size could be 16-inches. It is likely to be based on the K1 platform.

Technical details of the SUV are scarce at the moment, but its Indian-spec version could share its powertrain with Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, which comes with 1.2-liter petrol, 1.2-litre diesel, and 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine choices. Transmission options are also likely to be the same as Nios & Aura. However, instead of the AMT gearbox, the brand could offer a clutchless manual gearbox (iMT)

Hyundai AX1's launch timeline is still under wraps. But we believe that Hyundai could launch this micro-SUV around the festive season at a starting price of around Rs 6 lakh (ex-showroom).
