2021 Jeep Compass Facelift: Deliveries And Test Drive Will Start From February 2

The facelifted version of the Jeep Compass has been launched in the price range of Rs 16.99 lakh to Rs 28.30 lakh (ex-showroom). While the official bookings of the SUV were initiated in the second week of January, the deliveries and test drive will commence from 2nd February 2021.

Compared to the pre-facelift version, the new Jeep Compass received a host of new cosmetic updates & features addition. The cosmetic enhancements are only limited to the front facia and interior of the car. For beginners, it gets a glossy black seven-slat grille flanked by sleeker LED headlamps & integrated DRLs. It also features a more dynamic front bumper with revised LED fog lamps housing.

The American maker has also introduced its limited-run 80th Anniversary Edition which gets a blacked-out roof, granite alloy wheels, body painted front and rear cladding. 

The interior gets a completely refreshed dashboard design with all-new 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment with FCA’s latest UConnect 5 infotainment system and connected car technology. The other prominent features include a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument panel (for Model S only), wireless charging, 8-way powered adjustable & ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera, etc. On the safety front, it gets a total of 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control, panic brake assist, brake lock differential, hill assist control, roll-over mitigation, and electronic stability control, etc.

No mechanical changes have been made to the SUV. It continues to be available with either a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol (163PS/250Nm) and a 2.0-litre turbo diesel (172PS/350Nm) engine. While both motors get a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard, the petrol unit exclusively is offered with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT). The diesel engine, on the other hand, gets an optional 9-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.

The 2021 Jeep Compass Facelift is available in four variants – Sport, Longitude (O), Limited (O), and Model S. The 80th Anniversary Edition is a limited edition. Compared to the previous model, the prices of the Compass SUV have been increased by up to Rs 4 lakh. Prices of the Trailhawk variant will be announced later, which might cross the 30 lakh mark.

In the Indian market, the Compass facelift rivals the Hyundai Tucson and Skoda Karoq. With its extensive price range, some of its variants also rival the MG Hector, Tata Harrier, Mahindra XUV500, Hyundai Creta, and Kia Seltos
