5-Seater Kia Carens To Be Launched Soon

Launched in February 2022, the Kia Carens received the ICOTY 2023 Award this year, one of the most prestigious automotive awards in India. Currently, the MPV comes in 6 and 7-seater configurations. But now, the carmaker is gearing up to introduce its five-seater version as well. As a result of the Carens’ third seating option, more buyers will be interested in it, especially those who don’t need the third row but demand a larger boot space.

As per the reports, Kia has recently homologated the five-seater version of the Carens, and only base-spec petrol and diesel variants of the MPV will be offered in the 5-seater avatar.

It is also worth mentioning that the carmaker could replace the diesel-manual powertrain with the diesel-iMT option. Also, the Alcazar’s new 160PS 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine will be introduced in Carens in place of the existing 140PS 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol mill. However, the 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engine options will continue to be on offer, with their existing transmission choices.

With the introduction of the 5-seater Kia Carens, its starting prices are expected to be reduced by a significant margin. Currently, it ranges between Rs 10.20 – 18.45 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
