The 5-door version of the Force Gurkha lifestyle SUV has recently been spied at a dealership, suggesting its launch is just around the corner.
Desing-wise, the long-wheelbase Force Gurkha looks largely similar to its ongoing 3-door version. The only notable changes are the new alloy wheels, the addition of two more doors, and an increase in overall length. Inside, it features a bench seat for three occupants in the middle row, whereas the last row will be offered with either a pair of captain seats or side-facing jump seats, making the SUV available in 7 and 9-seater configurations, respectively.
Aside from the differentiating seating layout, the 5-door Gurkha will remain the same as its smaller iteration, featuring a dark grey hard-plastic dashboard design, with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, manual AC and a lockable glovebox.
Expect the LWB Force Gurkha to come with the ongoing 2.6-litre diesel engine that is capable of developing 91PS of maximum power and 215Nm of peak torque. It comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 4×4 drivetrain with front & rear manual locking differentials (MLD), front & rear anti-roll bars, and an air-intake snorkel that offers a water-wading capacity of 700mm. However, the larger dimensions might affect the approach, departure, and break-over angles of the five-door version.
Expect the prices of 5-door Force Gurkha to start from around Rs 15.5 lakh (ex-showroom), placing it against the upcoming 5-door Mahindra Thar and Maruti Suzuki Jimny.
