Hyundai India has given the Ioniq 5 a much-needed facelift, providing a comprehensive update to the electric SUV. It includes a larger battery pack with more range, updated styling and plenty of new features.

2026 Hyundai Ioniq 5 Facelift – What’s New?
- Bigger Battery Pack: The biggest update for the Ioniq 5 comes in the form of a larger 84 kWh battery pack, replacing the earlier 72.6 kWh unit.
- Improved Range: With a larger battery pack, the Ioniq 5 now claims a range up to 690km, which is 59km more than its predecessor.
- Revised Styling: Being a facelifted model, the 2026 Ioniq 5 features an updated exterior design with new alloys and tweaked bumpers at both ends. The design of the rear spoiler has also been revamped.
- Interior Changes: Inside, the facelifted Ioniq 5 features a newly styled 3-spoke steering wheel with a 4-dot illuminated design and heating function. The brand has also redesigned the wireless charging pad to incorporate the physical controls for the heating & ventilation function of the seats.
- All-black interior: The 2026 Ioniq 6 boasts an Obsidian Black interior theme
- New Features: The SUV also receives a new connected car navigation cockpit, with over-the-air updated support. Additionally, the infotainment is now compatible with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It also gets a new Active Sound Design for artificial engine sound, remote immobilization via the Bluelink app for added anti-theft protection, and a new in-car payment system to pay for the EV charging directly from the infotainment display.
- Enhanced Safety: The safety quotient of the SUV has also been improved with an updated ADAS suite, comprising two new features – parking collision avoidance assist (rear) and parking distance warning.

The Ioniq 5 was already a well-loaded SUV, and in its facelift version, it retains amenities like powered tailgate, auto flush door handles, rear sunshades, twin connected displays, a sliding centre console, powered front & rear seats with memory function for all seats, panoramic glass roof, ambient lighting, dual-zone climate control, a BOSE sound system, front ventilated & heated seats, vehicle-to-load charging, surround-view monitor, and much more.
