2025 Ather 450S Now Available With A Bigger Battery Pack

Ather Energy has launched a new variant of the 450S electric scooter with a much bigger 3.7 kWh battery pack and a higher claimed range. It has been priced at Rs 1,45,999 (ex-showroom), making it Rs 26,158 more expensive than the base-spec 2.9kWh variant.

Ather 450S 3.7kWh – What’s New?

As mentioned above, the Ather 450S now gets a bigger 3.7 kWh battery pack from the 450X. With this, it now claims a range of 161 km, which is 39km more than the 2.9kWh variant. For reference, the 2.9kWh trim claims an IDC range of 122km on a single charge.

Available with the Ather Duo Charger, this new variant takes around 5 hours and 45 minutes to fully juice up the battery pack.

Other Specifications and Features

Aside from the above-stated changes, this new variant is identical to the 2.9kWh variant and carries forward the following features and traits: –

  • Powering it is a mid-mounted PMSM (Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) motor that produces a peak power output of 5.4kW and a peak torque of 22 Nm. It can complete the 0-40 kmph sprint in just 3.9 seconds.
  • It has a top speed: 90 kmph and a gradeability of 18 degrees.
  • Underpinned by the aluminium frame with telescopic fork and rear monoshock.
  • Key features include an all-LED lighting system, disc brakes at both ends with CBS, a USB charger, a 7-inch rider’s display, turn-by-turn navigation assist, call/music control, Find-My-Scooter, auto-hold, fall-safe, and four riding modes (SmartEco, Eco, Ride and Sport).
  • It rides on 12-inch alloy wheels shod with 90-section tyres at both ends.
  • The 450S is available in four colour options: Black, Blue, White and Grey.

Compared to the bigger 450X, the Ather 450S misses out on features like Google Maps integration, a TFT cluster, Magic Twist for regenerative braking, Ping-My-Scooter, multi-mode traction control system.
