Here’s a moment of joy for auto enthusiasts as we have been treated to the new Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 SUV, priced at Rs 3.35 crore (ex-showroom). The upgraded SUV boasts a revised design and a new powertrain underneath the hood.
- Starting with the mechanical of things, the 2024 Maybach GLS 600 houses a 4-litre bi-turbo V8 petrol engine underneath the hood that produces 557hp and 770Nm of peak torque, that’s 40Nm more than its predecessor. It comes paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system that provides an additional boost of 22hp and 250Nm. This engine also powers the recently launched AMG S63 E Performance.
- A 9-speed automatic transmission takes care of transmission duties, sending power to all four wheels via a 4MATIC drive system. This enables the SUV to complete the century sprint in just 4.9 seconds before attaining a top speed of 250 kmph.

- The SUV has also undergone a few visual changes. These include slightly tweaked grille, all-new bumper with sleeker design and Maybach logo on air dams, new LED taillights and Maybach-specific tail pipes.
- Standard wheels are multi-spoke 22-inchers, while the classic deep-dish monoblock 23-inch wheels are available as optional extras.
- The GLS 600 is available in Black, Polar White and Silver Metallic body shades.
- Dual-tone colour options are also being offered with the upgraded SUV.

- The interior updates are minimal, including a new steering wheel and revised AC vents. Furthermore, the latest-generation MBUX software offers updated graphics, enhanced telematics, a fingerprint sensor, and hand gestures for selective commands.
- Mercedes has offered the 2024 GLS 600 only in the 4-seater configuration in India, featuring lounge-like seats in the rear with an extended centre console between them.
- When it comes to creature comforts, the 2024 Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 comes loaded with the following amenities: –
- Nappe leather upholstery
- Dual integrated screen setup on the dash
- 13-speaker Burmester sound system
- Four-zone climate control
