2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC To Launch On Aug 9; Bookings Open

Mercedes Benz has announced to launch the new-generation GLC in India on August 9, 2023, and its bookings have now been commenced for a token amount of Rs 1.5 lakh.

Variants

  • Mercedes Benz will offer the new-generation GLC in two variants in India: GLC 300 4MATIC and GLC 220d 4MATIC.

Changes on the exterior

  • Minor cosmetic changes will be made to the exterior of the new GLC to give it a fresh appeal. These will include a new grille flanked by sharper & slimmer headlights, along with a set of new alloys and thinner LED tail lights at the rear.

C-Class Inspired Cabin

  • The new GLC will get a revamped interior layout inspired by the C-Class sedan, featuring a vertically oriented 11.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, along with a 12.3-inch free-standing horizontally oriented digital driver’s display.
  • Furthermore, the turbine-styled AC vents and dashboard-integrated ambient lighting give the new cabin of the 2023 Mercedes Benz GLC a plush feel.

Mild-Hybrid Engine Options

  • Unlike its international version, which comes with mild- and plug-in hybrid options, the Indian-spec Mercedes GLC will get 2.0-litre petrol (258PS/400Nm) and 2-litre diesel engine (197PS/440Nm) options, both mated to a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. 
  • It will get a nine-speed 9G-Tronic automatic transmission and the brand’s 4MATIC all-wheel-drivetrain (AWD) as standard.

Expected Price

  • We anticipate Mercedes to price the new GLC from around Rs 65 lakh (ex-showroom).
