Volkswagen India has started deliveries of the recently launched Tiguan Facelift across the nation. The premium mid-size SUV has already been sold out for the first quarter (Q3) of 2022; however, its bookings are still underway for a token amount of up to Rs 50,000.
Currently, the updated VW Tiguan comes in a sole fully loaded ‘Elegance’ variant that retails for Rs 31.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
Unlike its pre-facelift model which was discontinued in 2020, the new Tiguan is a petrol-only offering that also receives new features and revised styling. That said, it boasts new sportier-looking Matrix LED headlamps up front, along with redesigned grille and sharp creases on the new bumper. It also gets redone 18-inch alloy wheels, a new ‘Night Blue’ body shade, and LED tail lamps to round off the design.

Inside, there’s the new flat-bottom steering wheel, digital driver’s display, touch-based AC controls, and 30-colour ambient lighting system. The other notable features of the 5-seater SUV comprises an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, connected car tech, three-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, powered driver’s seat with memory function, auto headlamps & wipers, cruise control, electric parking brake with auto-hold function, six airbags, front & rear parking sensors, and electronic stability control, etc.
The facelifted Tiguan is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine (190PS/320Nm), mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DSG) and VW’s 4Motion all-wheel-drivetrain (AWD).
In the Indian market, the 2022 Volkswagen Tiguan locks horns with the likes of Jeep Compass, Citroen C5 Aircross, and a much more affordable Hyundai Tucson.
