2022 Suzuki S-Cross Revealed, Will It Launch In India?

Suzuki Motors has revealed the new-generation S-Cross today for the European market. Underpinned on an updated Global C platform, the new S-Cross has been completely overhauled both inside and outside. Here are all the details about the upgraded crossover that you would like to know: –

– The second-gen iteration of the Suzuki S-Cross measures identical to the ongoing model. That said, it is 4300mm long, 1785mm wide, 1585mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 2600mm.

– Design-wise, the new S-Cross looks more like an SUV rather than a crossover thanks to its upright & boxier silhouette and bolder design. It features a larger piano black grille with a new honeycomb-like pattern and two-striped chrome slat, flanked by sleek & stylish trim-beam LED headlamps. The well-sculpted bonnet and front bumper along with a wide central air intake and faux skid plate give the car a more muscular appeal.

– Like the ongoing model, there's the blacked-out body cladding all around the car. It gets large 17-inch dual-tone five-spoke alloy wheels, an upward-sloping window line, and a raked roofline. At the back, it has wraparound tail lamps, connected by a black strip. The other notable bits include an upright tailgate and an integrated roof spoiler.

– The interior of the car has also been completely revamped, featuring a refresh layered dashboard layout with a floating 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system taking center stage. The new & sleeker central AC vents are positioned just below the center screen. It also gets a slightly revised instrument cluster. However, in a very surprising move, the new S-Cross carries forward the steering wheel, climate control dials, gear lever, and the power window switches from the existing model.

– In terms of features, the tops-spec model of the new Cross comes loaded up to the brim. The key features include LED headlights, keyless entry with push-button start, dual-zone climate control, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, satellite navigation, heated front seats, leather seat upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, four driving, modes, 360-degree parking camera, front & rear parking sensors, and various driving assistance systems like traffic-sign recognition, adaptive cruise control, and blind-spot monitoring.

– Suzuki has offered the 2021 S-Cross in six color options – Silky Silver, Metallic Titan Dark Grey, Sphere Blue, Solid White, Energetic Red, and Cosmic Black.

– The all-new S-Cross draws its power from a 129PS/235Nm 1.4-litre Boosterjet turbo-petrol engine with a 48V mild-hybrid system and an optional AWD. Transmission options for the new S-Cross include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

–  Suzuki claims that the 4×2 variant of the new S-Cross can complete the 0-100kmph run in just 9.5 seconds, whereas its AWD iteration takes 10.2 seconds for the same.

– In Europe, the S-Cross will be available in two trims: Motion, at £24,999, and Ultra, at £29,799.

– For now, Suzuki hasn't made any announcement regarding its Indian launch. But Maruti might bring the new-gen S-Cross to India in the future.
