Kia Open Bookings For The All-New Sorento SUV

Kia India has commenced pre-launch bookings for the Sorento SUV ahead of its launch in the coming weeks, though the official date is yet to be announced. It will be Kia’s new ICE-powered flagship offering and will debut the brand’s strong-hybrid powertrain in the country.

Kia Sorento Engine Details

While the exact engine details are still under wraps, its global-spec version comes with a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine paired with an electric motor, offered in both regular strong-hybrid and plug-in-hybrid versions. However, which of these will make it to the Indian market is still a mystery.

Nevertheless, the strong hybrid Sorento comes with a 1.49kWh lithium-ion polymer battery pack, whereas the PHEV version sources its power from a 14kWh lithium-ion polymer battery with an all-electric range of 31km. Both models get a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission as standard, with the PHEV version featuring an all-wheel-drive drivetrain (AWD) setup.
