2022 MG ZS EV Facelift – Exterior Design
As revealed in our previous stories, the upgraded ZS EV will look similar to its global-spec version, featuring a body-coloured faux grille up front, flanked by MG Astor-like LED headlamps with integrated LED daytime running lights (DRLs). Its charging port has also been repositioned from behind the MG logo to now next to it.
The updated SUV also gets a refreshed front bumper with plenty of blacked-out elements, a new set of 17-inch alloy wheels, and revised LED tail-lamps & rear bumper.
New MG ZS EV Facelift – Interior Design and Key Features
While MG is yet to reveal its interior design, the earlier spy shots have already exposed that the overall layout of the dashboard will remain largely unchanged. However, it will get a larger 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, along with a new climate control panel and a digital driver’s display. Besides, it could also get wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto connectivity, wireless charging pad, and personal AI (artificial intelligence) assistant.
The other notable inclusion will include a 360-degree camera and Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) as its petrol-counterpart, which should comprise active safety techs like adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, traffic sign recognition, cross-traffic alert, and much more.
Facelifted MG ZS EV – Powertrain
MG is expected to equip the facelifted ZS EV with a larger 51kWH li-ion battery pack that will definitely boost its driving range from the current claimed figures of 419 kilometers. Specifications of the electric motor (143PS and 353Nm) are expected to remain unchanged.
Expected Price and Competitors
Considering all the changes, the prices of the 2022 MG ZS EV Facelift will indeed bear a substantial premium over the ongoing model, which retails between Rs 21.49 lakh-25.18 lakh (ex-showroom, India). It will continue to lock horns against the likes of Hyundai Kona Electric, which is also expected to receive a facelift update this year.
