2022 Lexus NX 350h Hybrid Finally Hits Our Shores

After a long delay, the new-generation Lexus NX (called NX 350h) luxury SUV has finally arrived in India at a starting price of Rs 64.90 lakh (ex-showroom). It is available in three variants: Exquisite, Luxury, and F-Sport. Let’s look at the variant-wise prices:

2022 Lexus NX 350h – What’s New?

The new Lexus NX 350h Hybrid gets a revised design inside and out, along with bigger proportions and a host of new features.

Exterior

Starting with the exterior, the luxurious SUV features a more chiseled design with cultivated character lines. It boasts a trademark spindle grille upfront flanked by sleeker LED headlamps with new integrated LED daytime running lamps. The rear receives new LED taillights, which are now connected by a horizontal light bar. It also gets LEXUS lettering at the centre of the tailgate replacing the brand’s logo. 

The F-Sport trim also features more dynamic bumpers with sportier-looking larger vents, bolder front grille mesh, a front-lip spoiler, and bespoke alloy wheels to make it look more aggressive.

Dimensions

As far as the dimensions are concerned, the new Lexus NX is 4,660mm long, 1,865mm wide, 1,640mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 2,690mm. That’s 20mm longer and wider, 5mm taller, and a 30mm longer wheelbase than its predecessor.

Interior & Features

The interior of the upgraded Lexus NX has been completely overhauled. A new 14-inch infotainment system (optional) with integrated climate control now takes the centre stage (standard kit includes a 9-inch unit). Buyers picking the F-Sport trim will also get black-red upholstery, aluminum pedals, sports seats, and a bespoke steering wheel.

In terms of features, the new NX350h gains a 7-inch digital driver’s display, a new steering wheel with touch-sensitive controls, an optional 10.1-inch head-up display, a new Virtual Assistant, wireless Android Auto & Apple Carplay, over-the-air (OTA) updates support, 10-speaker sound system, panoramic sunroof, digital car key, a virtual assistant, 64-colour ambient lighting with 14 themes, wireless smartphone charger, 8-way powered and heated front seats (optional for rear), electronically opening tailgate, and all-new digital Latch system (E-Latch) that enables doors to open smoothly at the touch of a button when entering or exiting the vehicle.

For passenger’s safety, the SUV gets eight airbags ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, traction control, front & rear parking sensors, and Lexus’s latest driver assistance systems called ”Lexus Safety System+ 3.0” that further comprises Dynamic Radar Cruise Control with Curve Speed Management, Rear Crossing Traffic Alert (RCTA), Rear Camera Detection (RCD), Blind Spot Monitor, Adaptive Headlamps, Lane Tracing Assist, Lane Departure Alert, Pre-collision System (PCS), and much more. The SUV has also recently scored a 5-star EURO NCAP safety rating.

Powertrain

Powering the 2022 Lexus NX350h is a 2.5-liter, 4-cylinder petrol hybrid engine, coupled with two electric motors (one on each axle), producing a combined output of 244PS and 239Nm. The power is transferred to all four wheels via a 6-step CVT automatic transmission, helping the SUV to complete the century sprint in just 7.7 seconds.
