2022 Hyundai Tucson Launched; Price Start From Rs 27.7 Lakh

The fourth-generation Hyundai Tucson has finally been launched in India at a starting price of Rs 27.7 lakh (ex-showroom). It is available in two variants: Platinum and Signature, and will be sold from Hyundai’s Signature outlets. Bookings for the SUV are underway and it has already received over 3,000 reservations.

Powering the Hyundai Tucson mid-size SUV is either a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated petrol (156PS/192Nm) or 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine (186PS/416Nm). The gasoline mill comes paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission, while the oil burner gets an 8-speed unit and an optional all-wheel-drive (AWD) system.

Design-wise, the 2022 Hyundai Tucson has undergone a complete makeover, featuring an intense & elegant aesthetic based on the brand’s latest Parametric Dynamic design philosophy. Its striking front design is dominated by its new parametric jewel grille that seamlessly integrates the LED daytime running lamps (DRLs).

On the side, the Tucson dons tons of cuts & creases, complemented by angular wheel arches and a sloping roof finished in black with chrome trim. At the rear is a blade-like LED taillamp setup with a full-width spanning LED bar completing its sporty appearance.

Dimensionally, the new generation Hyundai Tucson has grown in size. It is now 4630mm long, 1865mm wide, 1665mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 2755mm. For reference, the previous-generation Tucson measured 4475mm x 1850mm x 1660mm.

Inside, the SUV gets an all-new futuristic dashboard layout with the water-fall-designed touchscreen cluster taking the centre stage. It comprises 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment and touch-enabled climate control panel.

The other notable features of the new Tucson include a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, panoramic sunroof, dual-zone auto climate control with the segment’s first multi-air modes, auto defogger, ventilated & heated front seats, Home-to-Car (H2C) with Alexa and Google voice assistants (supports both Hindi and English), OTA updates for system and map, ambient sound of nature, reclining function for the 2nd-row seat, panoramic sunroof, remote engine start, Bose premium sound system, multiple driving modes (Normal, Eco, Sport, Smart), terrain modes (Snow, Mud, Sand), 64-color ambient lighting, wireless smartphone charging, hands-free tailgate, and much more.

For safety, the packs 6 airbags, front & rear parking sensors, electronic stability control, hill hold & descent control, electric parking brakes, 360-degree camera, and the brand’s SmartSense technology with Level-2 ADAS that further comprise active safety features like forwarding collision warning & avoidance assist, blind-view monitoring along with blind-spot collision warning and collision avoidance assist, lane keep assist, driver attention warning, safe exit warning, adaptive cruise control with stop & go function, lane following assist, high beam assist, rear cross-traffic alert & collision avoidance, etc.

In the mid-size premium SUV segment, the fourth generation Hyundai Tucson takes on the likes of Jeep Compass, Citroen C5 Aircross and Volkswagen Tiguan.
