2022 Hero Optima CX Launched At Rs 62,190

  • Adds to the growing segment of EV scooters.
  • Offers a removable and portable Lithium Ferro Phosphate (LFP) battery.
  • Available with both single and dual battery options.
  • Claimed range of 82km, for the single battery and 140km for the dual battery on a single charge.

Hero Electric has added yet another e-scooter to its portfolio, this time in the form of the Optima CX. Priced at Rs 62,190 for the single battery version and Rs 77,490 for the dual battery offering, it is an extremely compelling and rich product. It is said to do over its predecessor, the Optima HX, with its newly refined chassis, upgraded braking, higher range, and greater top speed, making it a pretty lucrative deal for first-time EV buyers.

In terms of design, the Hero Optima CX is nothing to write home about. With no bold cuts and no sharp creases, it sports the conventional scooty design just with a slimmer profile, which will help it cater to both young and mature buyers.

For its aggressive price, Hero has managed to pack decent tech onboard the electric two-wheeler with features like LED headlamps, a negative backlit digital instrument cluster, USB charging port, cruise control, walk assist function, remote lock with anti-theft alarm, regenerative braking, and reverse functionality, etc.

Powering it all is a 1.2kW BLDC motor, having a top speed of 45 km/hr, paired with a 51.2V, 30Ah Lithium Ferro Phosphate (LFP) battery (instead of the conventional Lithium-Ion), which can come either as a single or in a pair, depending on the configuration you pick. The single battery version will dish out a range of 82km, while the dual-battery pack one will give you a range of a staggering 140km, all on a single charge.

The single battery variant weights 82kg, while the dual battery sees an 11Kg increase with that additional battery pack leading it to have a 93kg final weight.

Speaking of charging capabilities, it takes around 4-5 hours to get full for both the variants, partly due to the availability of two charging ports, which is really good to see that Hero only wants to increase your range and not the charge time with it. Also, the availability of portable batteries gives you the ability to charge even in places your two-wheeler won’t be able to reach.

The Hero Electric e-scooter comes in 3 color options: Blue, Grey, and White, and goes up against the likes of the Bounce Infinity E1, BGauss A2, and the Ampere Magnus.

All prices are ex-showroom Delhi and are inclusive of the FAME subsidy.
