German automaker Volkswagen will be launching the facelifted iteration of its premium mid-size SUV, the Tiguan, on December 7, 2021. Unlike its older model (discontinued in April 2020) that was a diesel-only model, the new Tiguan will come with a petrol engine only. Besides, it will also receive tons of cosmetical changes and a few new features.

Inside the cabin, the updated Tiguan will get a new fully digital driver’s display (replacing the analogue dials), a redesigned two-spoke steering wheel, a touch-based climate control panel and a 30-colour ambient lighting system.
Other notable features onboard will include a touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, connected car technology, panoramic sunroof, tri-zone climate control, rear AC vents, cruise control, powered tailgate, an 8-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat, slidable rear bench, six airbags, ESP (Electronic Stability Programme), hill start & descent assist, etc.

As mentioned above, the facelifted VW Tiguan will employ a new 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine under the hood, belting out 190PS of maximum power and a peak torque of 320Nm. The motor will be paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission that will transmit the power to all four wheels via an all-wheel drivetrain.
Expect the upgraded Tiguan to be priced between Rs 28 lakh to 32 lakh (ex-showroom), placing it against the Jeep Compass and Citroen C5 Aircross.
