Going by the official sketches, the flagship Skoda SUV is likely to get some significant design updates at the front facia of the car, including an upright hexagonal butterfly grille flanked by slimmer LED headlamps, slightly lowered trapezoidal LED fog lamps, redesigned bonnet, and refreshed bumper with a wider central air intake framed by L-shaped elements.

2021 Skoda Kodiaq – Powertrain

As displayed during the 2020 Auto Expo, the Indian-spec Kodiaq facelift is likely to get a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder TSI turbo-petrol engine (190PS/320Nm) that will replace the older 2.0-litre diesel engine (150PS/340Nm). Gearbox duties are expected to be carried out by a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT) that will drive the all-four-wheels via a permanent AWD (all-wheel-drive) system. The brand will not offer the Kodiaq with a diesel engine choice.

Expected Price Range

The Kodiaq in its last guise was priced between Rs 35.36 lakh to Rs 36.77 lakh (ex-showroom India). The facelifted trim is expected to demand a premium of around Rs 50,000 over the previous model. Once launched, it will continue to rival the Ford Endeavour, Toyota Fortuner, Mahindra Alturas G4, and MG Gloster.

In the other news, the Skoda will launch the new-gen Octavia in April 2021, followed by the first made-for-India SUV, the Skoda Kushaq in June 2021.
